SECURITY

Société Générale Agence des Banques has implemented an efficient organization on technical procedure aspects as well as on staffing policy, in order to maintain the highest level of reliability in the services provided to its clients.
In anticipation of any serious incidents scenario, every application software is backed up within the frame of its continuity plan ( particularly in EIC, SIT and CRI activities ).

Adequate continuity plan systems and procedures are in place to ensure continuity of processing in case of incidents or blocked situation.
State of art filtering tools and survey processes are strictly implemented by Société Générale with respect to anti money laundering and financing of terrorism policies.

EIC (Exchange of Check Images)

EIC processing of checks is handled at Société Générale within different centers, each of them applying identical procedures as defined by Société Générale’s EIC teams. Each processing center is structuredso as to act as back up for the other ones.
If and when necessary, switching to emergency back up procedure will allow performing the accounting of your checks, and the link with EIC services will be maintained.

Société Générale implements every necessary means and procedures to get protected against fraud impacts :

  • Appliance of adequate interbank rules
  • Strict internal controls and procedures
  • Modules for detection of redundant operations
  • Systems equipped with CMC7 magnetic lines certification tools
  • Controls of CMC7 magnetic lines and implementation of internal verification procedures in case of abnormality.

As far as clearing services with CEPC are concerned, safety is funded on different action levels :

  • “circulating checks” received from CEPC are systematically digitalized
  • any check received for encashment at Société Générale ( circulating or not ) is also digitalized

Moreover, in case a heavy incident occurs, adequate alternative means and procedures are scheduled to be implemented so as to ensure continuity of service.

SIT (mass payments)

Acting as a SIT clearer for our banking customers generates a strong obligation to maintain the highest state of art quality service in operations processing.
A high attention is paid at proper management of payment flows issued on SIT systems. Technical infrastructures in place not only optimize flow processing in “cruise period”, but are also dimensioned to allow smooth absorption of exceptional peaks in volumes.

Reliability
Technical architecture of our SIT systems allows immediate switch of processing to another machine as soon as an incident is detected.
We wish to point out that Société Générale’s global rating as published by GSIT is 9.7 on a scale of 10. This evaluation is made on the basis of 4 criteria :

  • Architecture of the systems
  • Assessment of the processing
  • Commercial handling of the flows
  • Alert procedures and continuity plan

Safety
Datas communication via Etebac 5 protocol is included in our service offer to the clients, allowing securitized exchanges through the use of nominative cards.
Société Générale has implemented a centralized IT organization which allows immediate reactivity in case an incident occurs.
Any necessary step or procedure is scheduled in order to limit impacts and provide continuity of service.

As credit card flows operations end up in the SIT system, they also benefit from the same safety level.

CRI (high value payments)

Société Générale, as a direct participant on CRI clearing , is at any time ready to implement its continuity plan in case of incident.
This continuity plan would be activated with immediately operational trained staff.
Should a connection problem between Agence des Banques and its client occur, input of the orders directly made by Agence des Banques would then be activated by using fax facilities.
Should data and files acquisition systems of Agence des Banques default, input of clients orders would be implemented via an alternative Société Générale internal channel.
